Project — concept for a land art installation on the topic of ornithology for the Yuntolovo residential area
The land art piece, «Hairdo on the Hill,» is inspired by bird crests and the various functions they serve in the lives of birds.
The main one is helping with communication and emotional expression.
This relates to the task of the kids' playground, where the project will be located.
The courtyard between apartment buildings is an important place for communication—not only for children discovering the beauty of the world but also for parents sharing daily concerns. The land art installation will become a focal point, inspiring photographs and engaging dialogues!
Udo: Form Generation of a Land Art Object
The artistic concept of the presented project involves creating four spiral ribbons constructed from a metal framework wrapped with thin branches that define the objects' width.
Flowers and shrubs can be placed around them to support the chosen theme:
Creating varied hairstyling forms on the landscape relief.
Object Placement Options
The hairstyle «takes hold» on any of the hills, so its placement is variable.
Brown lines — metallic frame; orange — wooden dowels
The object is constructed from a metal frame twisted into a spiral shape and wooden dowels, which are tightly attached to one another, thereby creating a ribbon-like surface.
Materials: steel and wooden rods
So, the airflow passes through the object, moisture is not retained, and the viewer enjoys the graceful form of the fin.
Parallel Projection
The visualizations demonstrate potential placements for the object, which fits into many points of the surveyed area thanks to its universal form.
The shadow cast by the sculpture creates an interesting design on the verdant hillside grass throughout the day.
The form, constructed from metal and wooden rods, merges with the projected image, doubling the plasticity of the land art piece.
