01 / CREATIVE FASHION DESIGN FOR BRANDS

post

EVA TATARZHINSKAYA

Form. Texture. Sensuality.I work with sculptural silhouettes, expressive volumes and tactile materials, exploring the relationship between clothing and the body. Inspired by art and nature, I combine experimental forms with precise construction and wearability.Open to full-time opportunities and collaborations with fashion brands and production teams.Education: Fashion Design, HSE Art and Design School, 2023–2027

02 / DESIGN APPROACH

Fashion design is a creative process in which, through experimentation with textures, silhouettes, and structural elements, a concept is transformed into a finished garment.

My practice is driven by experimentation with texture, silhouette and construction. I draw inspiration from art, nature and the relationship between clothing and the body, translating these influences into expressive, wearable pieces. By combining materials and exploring unexpected uses for familiar techniques, I develop a distinct visual language for each collection.

HOW I WORK?

Analyze the brief → Research visual references → Develop the collection concept → Select fabrics and test techniques → Create sketches and technical drawings → Develop patterns and samples → Refine fit and construction → Prepare technical specifications for production → Refine through sampling → Bring the collection to life

From an expressive concept to a wearable design.Through texture, silhouette and construction, I translate artistic references into garments that balance a distinctive visual identity with comfort, movement and fit.

03 / HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO PROJECT

From initial research to the finished garment, I explore materials, develop silhouettes and refine construction, shaping each concept into a design that combines artistic expression.

FORM & SILHOUETTE

I develop silhouettes through sketching, pattern cutting and experimentation with volume and proportion. My focus is on the relationship between clothing and the body: how a garment follows its contours, creates space around it and responds to movement.

MATERIALS & TEXTURES

I explore fabrics, surface treatments and material combinations as an essential part of the design. Contrasts between transparency and density, softness and structure help me express the concept while considering how each material behaves in a finished garment.

PATTERN CUTTING & GARMENT DEVELOPMENT

I translate sketches into technical drawings, patterns and samples. Through fittings and adjustments, I refine proportions, construction and finishing, working towards a garment that retains the original idea and feels considered on the body.

STYLING & VISUAL PRESENTATION

I develop the visual presentation of my collections through moodboards, styling and photographic references. I consider how garments work together and how their form, texture and movement can communicate the project’s concept.

04 / DESIGN IN PRACTICE

EVERY PROJECT BEGINS WITH A QUESTION

How can an abstract idea become something physical? My projects explore this question through the body, materials and construction. References from sculpture, architecture and natural phenomena become starting points for decisions about cut, proportion, texture and movement.

THE DESIGN CHALLENGE

How can clothing express the different identities that coexist within a person?

Under the Skin explores identity as something layered and constantly changing. Memories, relationships and a sense of belonging shape different versions of ourselves, which can overlap without forming a single, fixed whole. The challenge was to translate this internal experience into clothing. I wanted the garment to hold separate elements together while allowing each of them to remain visible.

TRANSLATING IDENTITY INTO VOLUME

How can an invisible experience become a visible structure?Ernesto Neto’s installations became a starting point for exploring suspended forms, softness and the physical presence of materials. I was interested in how a volume could be shaped by what it contained.I translated this idea into spheres enclosed within translucent layers. Each sphere represents a fragment of identity; together, they form a volume that makes the garment’s contents part of its silhouette.
