I’m Kamilya Syubaeva, an independent fashion designer working with unconventional silhouettes, garment construction and textile materials.I create original garments for editorial shoots, magazine covers, artist styling, red carpet appearances, and other creative projects.

Some fashion shoots require more than conventional clothing — garments with unusual silhouettes, volumes or textures that can become the central element of a look.Finding the right piece is part of bringing that concept to life.

RURAL EXODUS

This project explores displacement and contemporary nomadism through the idea of carrying one’s belongings on the body.Rolled textiles, straps and portable structures are incorporated into the garments, changing their proportions and extending beyond the figure.

RARE BIRD

The project explores the human desire to fly, drawing on early studies of bird wings and attempts to reproduce their structure.Frameworks, fabric panels and visible ties extend the garments beyond the body. Pale, wing-like forms contrast with darker pieces featuring angular constructions and irregular surfaces.

IYIK
This project explores hybrid cultural identity through the traditional spindle and the process of winding yarn.The garment combines a fitted upper section with an exaggerated rounded volume. Layers of pale fibres form an uneven surface, giving the piece a different appearance in full-length photographs and close-up details.

STILL MOVING
The spontaneity of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe’s creative collaboration is compared to the immediacy of a developing Polaroid photograph. Clothing created using the Polaroid process becomes a symbol of the protagonist.The garment can be reconfigured and worn in different ways, allowing its silhouette and proportions to change. Overlapping panels can be rearranged to create different shapes, offering a range of styling possibilities within a single piece.
