01. WHO I AM

I’m Sofya Avzalova, a Fashion Branding student and the founder of two jewelry brands, KARMASHEK and SINGULIER. I’m a multidisciplinary designer specializing in product and graphic design, art direction, and visual communication.

An object is never just an object.
My professional experience began with building my own jewelry brand. This experience taught me to see beyond the individual product and consider the entire visual world surrounding it.

I discovered that a piece of jewelry is more than its shape or materials. The way it is photographed, presented, and communicated can completely change how people perceive it. This connection between the object and its visual world became the foundation of my creative practice.
02. WHAT I BRING TO A BRAND
Running my own brand gave me hands-on experience across different stages of the creative process, from product development to photography and graphic design.
I learned how one creative idea can move between different formats while maintaining a recognizable character. A product, a campaign image, a graphic composition, and a physical presentation can all communicate the same brand identity.
I can support a creative team in developing visual ideas, adapting them across formats, and maintaining a consistent brand identity.
This means I can contribute not only to creating individual visual materials, but also to making sure they work together as part of a larger brand story.
03. THE CHALLENGE
How do you turn jewelry into a recognizable brand? While developing my own jewelry brand, I worked on both product creation and visual communication.

The challenge was not only to design jewelry but also to express its character through photography, composition, graphic design, and other visual materials.I needed to find a way to connect these different elements so that the jewelry would not appear as a collection of unrelated objects, but as part of a recognizable creative world.

04. MY APPROACH
Every form begins with an idea.My jewelry design process involved visual research, exploring materials, developing sketches, and collaborating with specialists involved in production.
I aimed to create objects in which form, material, and concept were closely connected.Rather than treating references as decoration, I used them to explore the character of each piece: its shapes, textures, proportions, and emotional associations. These decisions helped me establish a starting point for its later visual presentation.
