Game References
At Barn Finders, we are inspired by the thrill of discovering valuable items among junk; in Supermarket Simulator, by the clear rhythm of managing a store; and in DressMaker, by the opportunity to creatively rework clothing. The visual cues complement each other: from The Sims 4, we take the cozy interiors and expressive textures; from «It’s You!”—unique shapes; and from Animal Crossing—the friendly interface. Together, these ideas help shape the character of Vintage Shop Simulator: a game where it is rewarding to discover, create, and sell.

What determines the value of an object?

The price of an item in the game depends on several factors. One is its condition: the degree of wear and the amount of repair needed. Another is the brand; a mass-market item, designer apparel, and a high-fashion piece are perceived differently.
The season also matters. In the summer, buyers more often look for silk, cotton, and linen; in the fall, wool and viscose are sought after; winter sees increased interest in heavy fabrics, while lighter materials become relevant again in the spring. Finally, trends influence demand: style, color, silhouette, and popular aesthetics.
Therefore, setting a price means correlating the item’s quality with what is happening in the world around it. A rare find might be untimely, while a simple item could perfectly align with seasonal demand. The player must learn to notice these nuances and decide what to sell now and what to hold back.
Game Loop
The player finds vintage items at flea markets and online marketplaces. If necessary, they repair, restore, or rework the finds, then display them in the shop, set prices, and open the doors to customers. Buyers select items and generate profit. Sometimes, they receive special requests: the player must select an item to match a specific client. The income earned helps develop the shop—and allows the player to return to searching for new finds.
Visual Design Track
The game’s visual style merges the coziness of everyday life with the charm of vintage finds. The Sims 4 serves as the design inspiration for the interiors—its recognizable object proportions, stylized lighting, and textures help bring the shop to life and make it feel lived-in. From «It’s you!» (Это ты!), we draw boldness in forms and unusual details, giving every item its own distinct character.
The interface is inspired by Animal Crossing: soft colors, simple shapes, and intuitive elements ensure that the focus remains on finding and examining the objects. Consequently, the shop should feel like a place worth exploring—from the racks filled with clothing to the small details on the shelves.
The store’s interior is a cozy, vintage eclecticism. Warm lighting, vibrant rugs, plants, and shelving made from old crates create a sense of lived-in space, where every item could be an unexpected find.
